{"id":22787,"date":"2022-04-11T09:59:36","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T13:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/blue-peter-launches-competition-glastonbury-festival\/"},"modified":"2022-04-11T09:59:36","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T13:59:36","slug":"blue-peter-launches-competition-with-glastonbury-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/blue-peter-launches-competition-with-glastonbury-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Peter Launches Competition with Glastonbury Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BBC Studios Kids &amp; Family-produced <em>Blue Peter<\/em> has launched a costume design competition with Glastonbury Festival, with the winning design to be displayed during the Kidzfield Sunday Parade on June 26.<\/p>\n<p><em>Blue Peter<\/em>\u2019s viewers are invited to submit designs for an original eco-costume, made completely from recycled materials, excluding plastic bottles, and suitable to be worn in all weathers. The competition is now open to U.K. residents between ages 6 and 15.<\/p>\n<p>Ten designs from three age categories (6-8, 9-11, 12-15) will be chosen for the second round, with one from each then chosen as a finalist. All 30 will receive an orange <em>Blue Peter<\/em> badge, and the three finalists will receive a framed copy of their design.<\/p>\n<p>The competition closes on April 29, and <em>Blue Peter<\/em> will announce the winner in June. The winner will have the opportunity to attend the festival, see their design produced and watch the parade, and get the chance to go behind the scenes with the BBC Studios production team.<\/p>\n<p>Emily Eavis, Glastonbury Festival co-organizer and competition judge, said, \u201cThe Kidzfield really is a special part of Glastonbury: It&#8217;s a magical place for kids to explore, create and have fun, and it&#8217;s where my children always want to spend their time! We&#8217;re so pleased to be teaming up with <em>Blue Peter<\/em> for this competition. I can\u2019t wait to see what fantastic designs the <em>Blue Peter<\/em> viewers come up with!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mwaksy, <em>Blue Peter<\/em> presenter, commented: \u201cI\u2019m so excited to go to Glastonbury Festival with our competition winner! This really is an awesome opportunity to see your design produced and lead the Kidzfield parade, as well as the chance of an incredible behind-the-scenes festival experience. So, get creative and get those designs into us by the 29th of April at 5 p.m. I\u2019m so looking forward to seeing your fabulous ideas!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sigrid, the BBC Music Sound of 2018 winner, will return to Glastonbury this year and will be appearing in a forthcoming episode of Blue Peter. She said: \u201cI love Glastonbury; it&#8217;s maybe the best festival in the world. It&#8217;s special.
