CBC has tapped Swin Chang as executive in charge of development and production at CBC Kids.<\/p>\n

Chang, formerly director of development at Alibi Pivotal Kids, will work with the independent production community to seek out, create and curate preschool and tween content for CBC TV and CBC Gem.<\/p>\n

Chang will report to Marie McCann, senior director of children’s content.<\/p>\n

At Alibi Pivotal Kids, Chang led the company’s efforts in sourcing new IP and talent and worked closely with creators, writers and stakeholders to develop a slate of multi-genre content. Prior to that, she was the director of development for Entertainment One Family, where she developed Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong<\/em>. She has also held roles at Amaze Film + Television and the BBC. Her career began at Family Channel and Disney Junior, where she supervised the creative development and production of all original Canadian content, including Life with Derek<\/em>, Radio Free Roscoe<\/em>, The Latest Buzz<\/em>, Wingin’ It<\/em>, Stella and Sam<\/em> and Justin Time<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“Swin brings to CBC Kids more than two decades of invaluable experience in children’s and family entertainment, including as both a broadcaster and independent producer,” McCann said. “As children’s content becomes even more reliant on global partnerships and cross-platform opportunities, Swin’s keen insights and international experience will help to further elevate CBC Kids’ slate for audiences at home and around the world.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
