{"id":21738,"date":"2021-10-14T10:31:11","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T14:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spi-international-acquires-smurfs-series-film\/"},"modified":"2021-10-14T10:31:11","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T14:31:11","slug":"spi-international-acquires-the-smurfs-series-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spi-international-acquires-the-smurfs-series-film\/","title":{"rendered":"SPI International Acquires The Smurfs Series &amp; Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SPI International has acquired the digital distribution rights to the classic series <em>The Smurfs<\/em> and the film <em>The Smurfs and the Magic Flute<\/em> from LAFIG Belgium and IMPS.<\/p>\n<p>The deal gives SPI worldwide AVOD and SVOD rights to <em>The Smurfs<\/em> content on SPI&#8217;s digital assets, including the FilmBox on-demand service, FilmBox+ and Film1 streaming platforms and the ad-supported Filmstream.<\/p>\n<p>The series will be available with English, Turkish, Dutch and Polish dubbing options.<\/p>\n<p>Revi Benshoshan, director of acquisitions and sales at SPI International, said: \u201cThe Smurfs is an iconic and worldwide recognizable brand that has been touching people\u2019s lives in a positive way for decades. We are very excited to acquaint a new generation of viewers with the magical world of Smurfs and to inspire those who grew up with the beloved series to tend to their inner child more often.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e9ronique Culliford, president of IMPS\/Lafig and the daughter of Peyo, creator of the Smurfs, said: \u201cThis new distribution deal with SPI\/FilmBox is fantastic news.
