Gary Marsh, who has spent 33 years in creative and leadership roles at Disney, is stepping down as president and chief creative officer of Disney Branded Television to launch his own production venture.<\/p>\n
Marsh has developed and shepherded some of the\u00a0most iconic content in the Disney portfolio, from the High School\u00a0Musical<\/em> and Hannah Montana<\/em> franchises to Lizzie McGuire<\/em>, Descendants<\/em>, Phineas and Ferb<\/em>, Gravity Falls<\/em>, The Proud Family<\/em>, That\u2019s So Raven<\/em>, Jessie<\/em>, Andi Mack<\/em>\u00a0and The Owl House<\/em>. During his tenure, he launched the Disney Junior channel, along with its programs such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse<\/em>, Doc McStuffins<\/em>, Elena of Avalor<\/em>\u00a0and Sofia the First<\/em>.<\/p>\n Marsh will exit his post at the end of 2021.\u00a0He has signed a multiyear production deal to develop content for Disney\u2019s streaming and linear platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, ABC, National Geographic, Freeform and FX.<\/p>\n \u201cFor 33 years, I\u2019ve had the greatest job in television,\u201d said Marsh. \u201cThe stories we\u2019ve told, the music we\u2019ve created, the stars we\u2019ve discovered, the franchises we\u2019ve built\u2014all of it has entertained and engaged millions of kids and families around the globe.
