Those themes are clear across <\/em>World Screen<em>\u2019s inaugural <\/em>TV Kids Screenings Festival<em>, where you\u2019re sure to find a slot winner, be it a trusted preschool brand, a breakout kids\u2019 comedy or an edgy tween hit.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-y\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TVKidsScreeningsFestival.com<\/a> to screen these titles. Clicking on each show title below will take you directly to the trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Today marks the official launch of the new Cartoonito preschool block on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, heralding the arrival of yet another player in what is already a thriving and competitive landscape. Reflecting the healthy demand for content for the youngest ones, there\u2019s plenty of preschool fare on offer at this virtual screenings festival.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-j\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Roars<\/a><\/strong><\/em> is an animated comedy from ZDF Enterprises that helps kids prepare for starting school. \u201cNow in its second season, our series is full of monster laughs and teaches the core values of life,\u201d says Peter Lang, VP ZDFE.junior. \u201cGoing to school is something children all over the world experience and can relate to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kate Sanagan, head of sales and distribution at Sinking Ship Entertainment, lists the PBS KIDS series <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-t\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alma\u2019s Way\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/em>as a highlight in the company\u2019s collection of new series and seasons\u2014all of which deliver inclusive storytelling. <em>Alma\u2019s Way<\/em> follows the city adventures of a Bronx-born, Puerto Rican girl.<\/p>\n<p>The preschool slate on offer from Big Bad Boo Studios also promises diversity front and center. <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16 Hudson<\/a><\/strong><\/em> \u201cnot only makes sure to feature a diverse cast, it also celebrates and highlights each character\u2019s heritage,\u201d says Shabnam Rezaei, president of the company and creator of the series. <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-d\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC with Kenny G<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u2014a second season of which is in production\u2014expands on the <em>16 Hudson<\/em> universe.<\/p>\n<p>GoldBee is showcasing <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-h\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Game Catchers<\/a><\/strong><\/em> in the festival, following the adventures of five friends on an interstellar journey. \u201cUnderneath the fun space adventures filled with laughter, the series is conceived to bring attention back to playground games, promoting an active lifestyle,\u201d says Christophe Goldberger, the company\u2019s managing director.<\/p>\n<p>As kids begin to emerge from pandemic lockdowns, Federation Kids &amp; Family is also showcasing a series that emphasizes physical activity: the dance coaching show <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Let\u2019s Dance<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which is targeted at a broad range of viewers aged 3 to 8. \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to be involved in this series, especially at a time when children worldwide need to be inspired and energized,\u201d says Monica Levy, head of sales.<\/p>\n<p>From Melnitsa Animation Studio, meanwhile, there\u2019s <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-u\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moonzy<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, about an alien who makes Earth home. \u201c<em>Moonzy<\/em> is a very positive, safe show full of love and kindness, which is especially important nowadays,\u201d says Sveta Barabanshchikova, director of international business development. \u201cEntertaining small kids, we are teaching them principles of equality and empathy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Magic Light Pictures\u2019 52-episode <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-o\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pip and Posy<\/a><\/strong><\/em> also delivers warmth and humor, says Muriel Thomas, international distribution director. \u201cBased on the million-selling book series illustrated by Axel Scheffler, <em>Pip and Posy<\/em> premiered in the U.K. in March to huge ratings success and is already a social media hit with 5-million-plus views.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cisneros Media\u2019s Ailing Zubizarreta, VP of content and creative services, is introducing her clients to the live-action series <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zumbar<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, in which six children interactively play with a variety of animals. Also promoting knowledge about nature is <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AnimalFanPedia<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, billed as a \u201cdynamic, funtaining and educational wildlife program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Expanding slightly beyond preschool\u2014targeting those in the 4-to-8 set\u2014Sinking Ship is showcasing the math comedy <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-p\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Odd Squad<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. ZDF Enterprises, meanwhile, sees audiences 4 to 10 finding interest in <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-x\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoom\u2014The White Dolphin<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Comedy becomes the dominant theme among the TV Kids Screenings Festival submissions as we move up into the core kids 6-to-9 demo. Federation is showcasing <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Presto! School of Magic<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, about aspiring magicians. \u201cThe timing for such an uplifting, exceptionally crafted production is perfect,\u201d Levy says.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow French outfit Cyber Group Studios is unveiling <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-c\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">50\/50 Heroes<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which \u201cbreaks conventions,\u201d says Raphaelle Mathieu, senior VP of sales, acquisitions and new media. \u201cThis is a completely original show that turns the serious superhero genre on its head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lang at ZDF Enterprises bills <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-q\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scream Street<\/a><\/strong><\/em> as a \u201cfast-paced, stylish, comedy-horror extravaganza\u2026packed full of humor and horror, delivered with warmth and heart.\u201d <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Muscleteers<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, meanwhile, delivers \u201caction-filled tales of intrigue and hilarity,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Big Bad Boo Studios is developing a second season of <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-f\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Bravest Knight<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which Rezaei calls an innovative, funny and entertaining show, and rolling out two seasons of <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1001 Nights<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. Sinking Ship is also targeting the 6-to-9 set with its live-action docuseries <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-v\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My Home, My Life!<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Live action dominates the festival entries geared to those 8 and up. Global Screen is delivering the tween and teen series <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3Hz<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which \u201chas everything that young audiences are looking for today,\u201d says Ulrike Schr\u00f6der, VP of acquisitions and co-productions. \u201cA cool and edgy look, diverse characters, great music as well as highly topical global issues such as environmental protection, with the added extra of an exciting crime story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Distribution360 is highlighting the tween-plus and family interconnected sitcom <em><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Parker Andersons\/Amelia Parker<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, which \u201coffers an original scripted programming option for international channels and platforms targeting older kids and their families,\u201d says Diane Rankin, senior VP of rights and executive producer. \u201cThe series is filled with heart and a real authenticity that both entertains and invites conversation, giving it a strong four-quadrant co-view appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Sinking Ship collection includes the new CBBC mystery series <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-g\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Demon Headmaster<\/a><\/strong><\/em> as well as the latest seasons of the sci-fi show <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-w\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Endlings<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and the Covid-19-inspired <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-yd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lockdown<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival also delivers some animated series for viewers 8 to 12, with Federation Kids &amp; Family highlighting <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-yh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kung Fu Wa<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which Levy says is \u201cbrimming with action, adventure and humor, as well as endearing moments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From Malaysia, Lemon Sky Studios is delivering a slapstick comedy consisting of 2-minute episodes called <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-yk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AstroLOLogy<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. \u201cI wanted to create a show driven by characters that can connect with individuals anywhere and everywhere,\u201d says Ken Foong, chief creative officer.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worldscreen.cmail20.com\/t\/r-i-trppjd-l-yu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See the TV Kids Screenings Festival here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In World Screen\u2019s inaugural TV Kids Screenings Festival, you\u2019re sure to find a slot winner, be it a trusted preschool brand, a breakout kids\u2019 comedy or an edgy tween hit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":21388,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[6087],"class_list":["post-21387","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-top-stories","tag-tv-kids-screenings-festival","pmpro-has-access"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
