WildBrain is set to bring the classic Strawberry Shortcake character to screens for today\u2019s kids in the new animated series Berry in the Big City<\/em>.<\/p>\n Berry in the Big City<\/em> is slated to premiere on September 18 in an exclusive double-episode event on the official Strawberry Shortcake channel on WildBrain Spark, the company\u2019s AVOD network on YouTube and YouTube Kids. It will be available initially in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, by territory.<\/p>\n New episodes will drop each Saturday following the premiere on Strawberry Shortcake\u2019s official channel through June 2022. Berry in the Big City<\/em> is produced by WildBrain\u2019s Vancouver animation studio with showrunner Michael Vogel. The series sees Strawberry Shortcake travel to Big Apple City, where the biggest names in baking go to get their big break. She\u2019s joined by her cat Custard and pals Orange Blossom, Lime Chiffon, Lemon Meringue and Blueberry Muffin, along with their own pets.<\/p>\n Season one of Berry in the Big City<\/em> features 40×4-minute episodes in 2D animation for kids aged 3 to 6. A second 40-episode season of Berry in the Big City<\/em> has already been greenlit, and WildBrain Studios is in development on a slate of new, CG-animated 44-minute Strawberry Shortcake family specials for a streaming platform.<\/p>\n Michael Riley, chief brands officer at WildBrain, said: \u201cStrawberry Shortcake has brought so much joy to children over the years, and now we\u2019re thrilled to provide today\u2019s generation with the opportunity to create new experiences and memories with the brand. The game invites fans to dive into an interactive 3D adventure, where they can play with each other and engage with Strawberry Shortcake and her friends in a digital world, customizing food trucks, creating baked goods and competing in baking contests.<\/p>\n WildBrain is also rolling out a brand-new global franchise program specially designed for today\u2019s children through events, toys, games, books, music, learning and experiences they can share with their parents and friends. As part of the consumer products program, WildBrain has appointed Moose Toys as Master Toy Partner for Strawberry Shortcake.
