{"id":21017,"date":"2021-07-02T09:22:21","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T13:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/disney-channel-sets-slew-premieres-august-13\/"},"modified":"2021-07-02T10:05:57","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T14:05:57","slug":"disney-channel-sets-slew-of-premieres-for-august-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/disney-channel-sets-slew-of-premieres-for-august-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney Channel Sets Slew of Premieres for August 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Spin<\/em>, <em>Descendants: The Royal Wedding<\/em> and <em>Disney&#8217;s Magic Bake-Off<\/em> are all set to premiere on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW on Friday, August 13.<\/p>\n<p>The Disney Channel original movie <em>Spin<\/em> stars Avantika (<em>Mira, Royal Detective<\/em>, <em>Diary of a Future President<\/em>) as Rhea, an Indian American teen who discovers her passion for creating and producing beat-driven music, blending the textures of her South Asian culture and the world around her. <em>Spin<\/em> is directed by Manjari Makijany and executive produced by Zanne Devine, with writing by Carley Steiner and Josh Cagan.<\/p>\n<p><em>Descendants: The Royal Wedding<\/em> continues the story for <em>Descendants<\/em> franchise favorites Mal and Ben on their wedding day and features a brand-new song by the cast. The animated special is directed by Salvador Sim\u00f3 and produced by Final Frontier Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>An unscripted competitive baking show for kids aged 6 to 14, <em>Disney&#8217;s Magic Bake-Off<\/em> is co-hosted by Dara Rene\u00e9 (<em>High School Musical: The Musical: The Series<\/em>) and Issac Ryan Brown (<em>Raven&#8217;s Home<\/em>). Disneyland resort pastry chef Graciela Gomez will guide the kid bakers through fun challenges that are designed to elevate the contestants&#8217; baking abilities, techniques and creativity. Each episode will declare a winning team to be named Disney Baking Champion.
