The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has unveiled the nominees for the 2020 International Emmy Kids Awards, which is set to take place on October 14 during MIPCOM Online+.<\/span><\/p>\n

Across three categories, there are 12 nominees spanning ten countries, including Australia, Brazil, Finland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden and the U.K. \u201cThe geographic spread and variety of themes addressed in these nominated programs demonstrate the buoyancy and quality of children\u2019s television throughout the world,\u201d said Bruce L. Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. \u201cWe congratulate the nominees for their outstanding talent and for setting the standard of excellence we expect for young viewers worldwide.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Nominated in the Animation category are <\/span>Ico Bit Zip <\/span><\/i>(National Geographic\/Copa Studio, Brazil); season three of <\/span>Oddbods<\/span><\/i> (One Animation, Singapore); <\/span>Moominvalley<\/span><\/i> (Gutsy Animations, Finland); and <\/span>The Tiger Who Came to Tea <\/span><\/i>(Lupus Films, U.K.).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Kids\u2019 Factual & Entertainment category are <\/span>Opa Popa Dupa<\/span><\/i> (Nat Geo Kids\/Estudios Telemexico, Mexico); <\/span>V\u00e4rldens Hemskaste Sjukdomar<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>World’s Worst Diseases<\/span><\/i>, Delta Studios, Sweden); <\/span>Finding My Family: Holocaust\u2014A Newsround Special<\/span><\/i> (BBC Children’s In-House Productions\/CBBC, U.K.); and <\/span>My Notebooks\u2014Seven Years of Tiny Great Adventures<\/span><\/i> (NHK, Japan).<\/span><\/p>\n

The second season of <\/span>Juacas<\/span><\/i> (The Walt Disney Company Latin America\/Cinefilm Brazil, Brazil); <\/span>Hardball<\/span><\/i> (Northern Pictures, Australia); <\/span>Dropje<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Doopie<\/span><\/i>, NTR Television\/Submarine, Netherlands); and <\/span>Extraordinary You<\/span><\/i> (MBC, South Korea) are nominated in the Kids\u2019 Live-Action category.<\/span><\/p>\n

International Emmy<\/span> Kids Awards presenting partners are Ernst & Young, MIPJunior and <\/span>TV Kids<\/span><\/i>. Winners will receive their awards during the online ceremony on Wednesday, October 14.\u00a0<\/span> This marks the second time this year that the Academy has presented the Kids Emmys.
