{"id":18984,"date":"2020-08-10T09:01:53","date_gmt":"2020-08-10T13:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/keke-palmer-join-proud-family-reboot\/"},"modified":"2020-08-10T09:01:53","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T13:01:53","slug":"keke-palmer-to-join-the-proud-family-reboot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/keke-palmer-to-join-the-proud-family-reboot\/","title":{"rendered":"Keke Palmer to Join The Proud Family Reboot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Keke Palmer will be joining the cast of Disney+\u2019s upcoming series <em>The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>T<span lang=\"EN\">he cast and executive producers of the animated series <em>The Proud Family<\/em>\u00a0recently participated in a virtual reunion during the NAACP\u2019s Arts, Culture &amp; Entertainment Festival.\u00a0Palmer moderated and used the opportunity to announce her joining the cast.\u00a0Palmer will play the role of Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins, a 14-year-old activist who relentlessly marches to the beat of her own drum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Picking up the story of its central character Penny Proud, <em>The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder<\/em> will also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!).
