BBC Studios Natural History Unit has started production on a pair of new children\u2019s commissions for CBeebies and CBBC iPlayer featuring Andy Day and Steve Backshall, respectively.<\/p>\n
The Day-fronted Andy\u2019s Dino Toybox<\/em> and DIY Deadly with Steve Backshall<\/em> will reflect changes in routine when homeschooling, promote staycation activities, explore nearby wildlife and discover new things to do and learn. The presenters will host the shows from within their own homes.<\/p>\n Andy\u2019s Dinosaur Toybox<\/em>, a 15×3-minute short-form series, sees Andy bring his toy dinosaurs to life. It is the newest installment of the Andy\u2019s Adventure<\/em> series, which also includes Andy\u2019s Safari Adventures<\/em>, Andy\u2019s Wild Adventures<\/em>, Andy\u2019s Dinosaur Adventures<\/em>, Andy\u2019s Prehistoric Adventures<\/em> and Andy\u2019s Aquatic Adventures<\/em>. In DIY Deadly with Steve Backshall<\/em>, the presenter will identify deadly animals living right under our noses and share anecdotes about Deadly 60<\/em> adventures, with audiences encouraged to send in pictures and videos from their own homes to share what they\u2019re seeing.<\/p>\n Jo Shinner, executive producer of the Natural History Unit, said: \u201cDuring this time of uncertainty it is really beneficial for kids to feel connected to nature and what better way than having family favorites Andy Day and Steve Backshall encouraging children of all ages to explore and celebrate the natural world around them.
