Animation (WBA) and writer, director and producer Ava DuVernay are developing an animated family show based on the best-selling book series <em>Wings of Fire<\/em> by Tui T. Sutherland.<\/p>\n<p>The studio secured the exclusive rights to the fantasy book series for DuVernay in a highly competitive situation. The <em>Wings of Fire<\/em> franchise has, thus far, spawned 15 novels, 3 graphic novels and 4 short stories. There are more than 9 million copies in print, available in 16 languages.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Wings of Fire<\/em> book series is an epic adventure set in a world entirely ruled by dragons. Across two continents and 10 tribes, the series explores vicious wars, enduring friendships, and heroic quests that span generations of fascinating dragon characters.<\/p>\n<p>WBA is producing the project with DuVernay, who serves as executive producer, through her ARRAY Filmworks production company. Dan Milano (<em>Glitch Techs<\/em>), Christa Starr, Sutherland and WBA\u2019s Sam Register (<em>Teen Tians Go!<\/em>) are also on board as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the first animated project for DuVernay as part of her exclusive overall deal with the Warner Bros.
