{"id":17056,"date":"2019-09-20T09:27:21","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T13:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cyber-group-studios-develop-last-kids-earth-video-game\/"},"modified":"2019-09-20T13:08:19","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T17:08:19","slug":"cyber-group-studios-to-develop-the-last-kids-on-earth-video-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cyber-group-studios-to-develop-the-last-kids-on-earth-video-game\/","title":{"rendered":"The Last Kids on Earth Gets Video Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cyber Group Studios has brokered a partnership deal to develop a video game based on the new Netflix series <em>The Last Kids on Earth<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Atomic Cartoons and Outright Games are set to launch the game in 2021 for consoles and PCs. <em>The Last Kids on Earth<\/em> video game will be created in consultation with the producers of the animated series, which began streaming on September 17.<\/p>\n<p>The animated show is based on the <em>New York Times<\/em> best-selling book series of the same name by Max Brallier. It follows Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out treehouse, play video games, gorge themselves on candy and battle zombies in the post-apocalyptic town of Wakefield.<\/p>\n<p>Two additional seasons of the show will begin streaming in 2020, including an interactive episode. Both seasons will feature a star-studded voice cast that includes Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O&#8217;Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez and Charles Demers, in addition to Nick Wolfhard voicing the lead character.<\/p>\n<p>Thierry Braille, VP of interactive and the video game division at Cyber Group Studios, said: &#8220;We are delighted to come together with Atomic Cartoons and Outright Games to announce a video game based on <em>The Last Kids on Earth<\/em>. The combination of this wonderful IP and the very promising game design made by Outright Games will deliver an amazing video game which will contribute to expand <em>The Last Kids on Earth<\/em> universe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Terry Malham, CEO of Outright, added: &#8220;After reading the books, and getting a preview of the Netflix series, we jumped at the chance to work with Atomic Cartoons and Cyber Group Studios to develop a video game based on <em>The Last Kids on Earth<\/em>.
