{"id":16964,"date":"2019-09-03T09:44:58","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T13:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/xilam-appoints-head-business-development-china\/"},"modified":"2019-09-03T10:02:53","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T14:02:53","slug":"xilam-appoints-head-of-business-development-for-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/xilam-appoints-head-of-business-development-for-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Xilam Appoints Head of Business Development for China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Xilam Animation has tapped former Amuse executive Manya Zhou for the newly created position of head of business development for China.<\/p>\n<p>Zhou will be responsible for developing Xilam\u2019s strategy in China, including managing local linear and digital distribution, licensing and marketing and potential co-production opportunities.\u00a0Additionally, Zhou will forge strategic partnerships and build awareness in the market across Xilam\u2019s IPs, including <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em>, <em>Zig &amp; Sharko<\/em>, <em>Paprika<\/em>, <em>Mr Magoo<\/em> and <em>Moka<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Zhou will be based in Xilam\u2019s head office in Paris and report to Morgann Favennec, executive VP of global sales development.<\/p>\n<p>Zhou joins Xilam from Amuse, a subsidiary of Millimages dedicated to digital production and distribution, where she was manager of the Asian market and handled co-production, investment and licensing opportunities for the company&#8217;s IPs with Chinese partners. Zhou also managed distribution of Amuse\u2019s animated properties across major local digital, OTT and IPTV platforms in addition to creating and launching new IPs in China.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this, Zhou held roles at Spideo, in addition to the Festival National du Film d&#8217;animation and Festival Cin\u00e9-Jeune de l&#8217;Aisne in France.<\/p>\n<p>Favennec said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to welcome Manya to the Xilam Animation team.
