Nickelodeon has tapped Angelique Yen and Eddie Gamarra to oversee its studio business, producing long-form movie content and for SVOD services.<\/p>\n
Yen has been hired as senior VP of physical production for Nickelodeon Movies, managing production for all original long-form movie content. Gamarra, meanwhile, will serve as Nickelodeon\u2019s VP of studio business development, with his remit including overseeing the development of animated and live-action content for SVOD platforms and third-party players. Both Yen and Gamarra will report to Ramsey Naito, Nickelodeon\u2019s executive VP of animation.<\/p>\n
Yen, who began her career at Disney in 1991, has most recently served as a consulting producer. In 2018, she joined Netflix, where she oversaw the company\u2019s animation production and pipeline for 16 slated productions. At DreamWorks Animation, Yen worked in both production and held studio roles managing films in the U.S. and internationally.<\/p>\n
Gamarra joins Nickelodeon from The Gotham Group, a management and production company, where he served as a literary manager with a primary focus on kids\u2019 and family entertainment. He was also previously an executive producer on\u00a0The Maze Runner<\/em> trilogy, Disney+\u2019s production of Stargirl<\/em> and Wendell and Wild<\/em> for Netflix.<\/p>\n Naito said: \u201cNickelodeon\u2019s studio business gives us the opportunity to create different stories and let our IP live on beyond the network while growing our audience and our creative-led culture.
