{"id":16833,"date":"2019-08-02T10:19:02","date_gmt":"2019-08-02T14:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/new-series-creators-air-bud-bow-disney\/"},"modified":"2019-08-02T10:19:02","modified_gmt":"2019-08-02T14:19:02","slug":"new-series-from-creators-of-air-bud-to-bow-on-disney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/new-series-from-creators-of-air-bud-to-bow-on-disney\/","title":{"rendered":"New Series from Creators of Air Bud to Bow on Disney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Air Bud Entertainment (ABE), the creators of the <em>Air Bud<\/em> movies, has unveiled <em>Pup Academy<\/em>, a brand-new live-action family adventure series set to air on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot episode is slated to debut on August 26\u2014which is fittingly National Dog Day\u2014at 2 p.m. <em>Pup Academy<\/em> introduces audiences to a new cast of talking canines and stars Christian Convery (<em>Descendants 3<\/em>, <em>Beautiful Boy<\/em>) in a live-action role.<\/p>\n<p>After the premiere, the 22-episode first season of the series returns on weekdays at 2 p.m., beginning September 4th.<\/p>\n<p>The<em> Pup Academy<\/em> story centers around three pup friends\u2014Spark, Corazon and Whiz\u2014who meet in their first year at the Academy. The puppies attend the Academy to learn how to become man\u2019s best friend, but the new students quickly discover a mysterious threat to not only the Academy, but to the very core of friendships between dogs and humans everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>The series also stars Don Lake (<em>Zootopia<\/em>) and Aria Birch (<em>Freaks<\/em>). It is created and executive produced by Anna McRoberts and directed and co-executive produced by ABE Founder and CEO Robert Vince. The film arrives more than 20 years after the debut of the original <em>Air Bud<\/em> film.
