The latest DoppelClangers merchandise range, which features mash-up products of Clangers<\/em> characters and various pop culture icons, is set to feature Doctor Who<\/em>, per a deal between Coolabi Group and BBC Studios.<\/p>\n

The new Doctor Who<\/em> range will launch today, August 2, exclusively on the Clangers<\/em> and Doctor Who<\/em> official online shops. The designs, featuring Major Clanger dressed up in the Doctor\u2019s long coat and colorful scarf, will be available on a range of items from mugs and t-shirts to tote bags.<\/p>\n

The DoppelClangers Doctor Who<\/em> collaboration is set to continue, initially with the first seven Doctors, ensuring the products will have cross-generational appeal.<\/p>\n

The two series have come together before, across space and time, in the 1972 Doctor Who<\/em> episode \u201cThe Sea Devils,\u201d with Jon Pertwee as the Doctor. In the episode, the Master watches Clangers<\/em> on his television screen, whistling along with their tuneful interactions.<\/p>\n

More recently, Clangers<\/em> featured a Doctor Who<\/em> reference within the special commemorative episode \u201cThe Visitor,\u201d which aired on last week on CBeebies. The storyline features an astronaut, inspired by space scientist Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE, who is greeted on arrival with gifts from the Clangers, including a hand-knitted Fourth Doctor-style scarf. The episode is a homage to \u201cThe Tablecloth\u201d episode from the original series which also celebrates the Moon landings.<\/p>\n
