Mustangs FC<\/em>, the ABC ME kids\u2019 comedy-drama series about an all-girls’ soccer team, has kicked off filming season three in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Aimed at the 9- to 13-year-old set, the show follows the teammates as they navigate friendships, families, feminism and football. In season three, which ABC Children\u2019s has co-commissioned with National Indigenous\u00a0Television (NITV), Film Victoria and NBCUniversal, the Mustangs enter a tough new league in which they\u2019re forced to merge with a rival squad.<\/p>\n

Mustangs FC,<\/em> produced by Matchbox Pictures for the ABC in association with Film Victoria and NITV, is directed by Ana Kokkinos, Roger Hodgman and Corrie Chen, with the award-winning Indigenous director Beck Cole and Amie Batalibasi joining for season three. Lucy Garwood\u00a0and\u00a0Kate Moore are joining the cast, which includes Emmanuelle Mattana\u00a0(Marnie),\u00a0Ashleigh Marshall\u00a0(Liv),\u00a0Monique Heath\u00a0(Lara),\u00a0Molly Broadstock\u00a0(Bella),\u00a0Gemma Chua Tran\u00a0(Anusha),\u00a0Celine Ajobong\u00a0(Ruby) and\u00a0Tharanya Tharan\u00a0(Zee) along with\u00a0Jacek Koman\u00a0as their coach, Danny,\u00a0Pia Miranda\u00a0as Marnie’s mother and comedian\u00a0Celia Pacquola\u00a0as the narrator. Dave Lawson\u00a0is guest-starring as Deano, the boys’ coach.<\/p>\n
