The Scottish indie Maramedia has unveiled the addition of the preschool animated series Hushabye Lullabye<\/em> to its Marakids brand.<\/p>\n

The 10×3-minute show, comprised of a series of short animations, has been commissioned by CBeebies. The musical series aims to calm children with its soft tunes and lullabies. It follows as the alien Dillie Dally climbs aboard the Hushabye Rocket on an interactive and relaxing musical journey of exploration and discovery to Planet Dream.<\/p>\n

Together with animators Once Were Farmers and Maramedia, the Scottish collaboration has been created, written and directed by the Glasgow-based television and theater director Sacha Kyle. Maramedia, co-founded by Nigel Pope and Jackie Savery, has had a string of natural-history documentary successes and was joined by former head of BBC Scotland children\u2019s production, Simon Parsons, to bring the series to the Marakids brand.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to be embarking on our first preschool children\u2019s animation series, an exciting addition to Marakids following the launch of previous series Gudrun the Viking Princess<\/em> for CBeebies,\u201d said Pope.<\/p>\n

Julia Bond, commissioning editor for CBeebies, said, \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be in production on this exciting new animation series. The magical and enchanting world of Hushabye Lullabye<\/em> brings lullabies, and the connections created by them, to our young audience and the grown-ups in their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
