{"id":16415,"date":"2019-05-24T09:00:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-24T13:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2019-05-24T09:15:02","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T13:15:02","slug":"sydney-to-the-max-gets-second-season-on-disney-channel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/sydney-to-the-max-gets-second-season-on-disney-channel\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney to the Max Gets Second Season on Disney Channel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Disney Channel has picked up the live-action father-daughter comedy <em>Sydney to the Max<\/em> for a sophomore run ahead of season one\u2019s return.<\/p>\n<p>New episodes from the series\u2019 first season will begin airing on Tuesday, June 18, at 8:30 p.m. on Disney Channel and the DisneyNOW app. Created and executive produced by Mark Reisman (<em>Frasier<\/em>, <em>Wings<\/em>, <em>The Exes<\/em>), production on season two will commence later this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Set in the present day with flashbacks to the 1990s, <em>Sydney to the Max<\/em> stars 13-year-old Ruth Righi as middle schooler Sydney Reynolds, who lives with her single dad, Max, played by <em>Suits<\/em>\u2019 Ian Reed Kesler, and grandmother, Judy, portrayed by Caroline Rhea (<em>Sabrina the Teenage Witch<\/em>, <em>Phineas and Ferb<\/em>). Max\u2019s flashbacks to his childhood help him gain perspective on his daughter\u2019s teenage years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mark Reisman and his team of talented writers, along with the top-notch cast, delivered a show that has quickly become an audience favorite for Disney Channel,&#8221; said Nancy Kanter, executive VP of content and creative at Disney Channels Worldwide. &#8220;With its playful nod to growing up in the \u201890s, the series strikes a chord with anyone who&#8217;s ever experienced their own &#8216;growing pains.&#8217;
