{"id":15822,"date":"2019-02-12T10:19:06","date_gmt":"2019-02-12T15:19:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spongebob-squarepants-celebrates-20th-anniversary\/"},"modified":"2019-02-12T10:48:59","modified_gmt":"2019-02-12T15:48:59","slug":"spongebob-squarepants-celebrates-20th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spongebob-squarepants-celebrates-20th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"SpongeBob SquarePants Celebrates 20th Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nickelodeon is commemorating <em>SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em>\u2019 20th anniversary with the \u201cBest Year Ever,\u201d a tribute that is set to kick off this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cBest Year Ever\u201d celebration will commence on Friday, July 12, with the premiere of \u201cSpongeBob\u2019s Big Birthday Blowout.\u201d The one-hour mixed live-action and animated special will feature the voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton, who will play live-action doppelg\u00e4nger versions of the animated characters they voice. The special will follow Patrick and SpongeBob as they travel to the surface\u2014where they come across these doppelg\u00e4ngers at The Trusty Slab restaurant\u2014and include a surprise party for SpongeBob thrown by the residents of Bikini Bottom.<\/p>\n<p>For the anniversary celebrations, Nickelodeon will also roll out a new product line by toy partner Alpha Group featuring figures that showcase SpongeBob\u2019s iconic meme moments. Collaborations with lifestyle brand Cynthia Rowley for a <em>SpongeBob<\/em> wetsuit and international mixed-media artist Romero Britto, and the launch of a dedicated YouTube channel and mobile game are in the works as well.
