Peanuts Worldwide and NASA have inked a multiyear Space Act agreement that builds on the historic partnership that began during the Apollo missions of the 1960s.<\/p>\n
The agreement is designed to encourage a passion for space exploration and STEM among the next generation of students. The partnership celebrates the upcoming 50th anniversary of Apollo 10\u2019s lunar mission in modules named for Charles Schulz\u2019s iconic Charlie Brown and Snoopy characters.<\/p>\n
The deal will provide fans with a range of ways to celebrate the 50th anniversary next year of Apollo 10\u2019s mission, with all-new and original content starring Astronaut Snoopy, as well as an in-school STEM-based curriculum about the U.S.’s latest explorations into deep space. The countdown for the 50th anniversary of the landmark Apollo 10 lunar mission aboard the Charlie Brown and Snoopy modules begins this month at San Diego Comic-Con.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband, Charles Schulz, fully embraced a collaboration with NASA for Snoopy and he was inspired to create a series of original comic strips detailing Snoopy’s fantastical journeys through space,\u201d said Jeannie Schulz. \u201cThose strips remain among the most popular ones in circulation today.\u201d<\/p>\n
