The new plot will see the House of Frightenstein opened up to the public to help pay the bills. The original <em>The\u00a0<\/em><em>Hilarious House of Frightenstein<\/em> was produced in 1971 by brothers Riff and Mitch Markowitz.<\/p>\n<p>The series went on to be one of the longest-running children\u2019s shows. The original aired on CHCH, YTV, Showcase, Space and Drive In Classics in Canada. The series also aired throughout the U.S. and across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Headspinner principals Michelle Melanson (<em>The Next Step<\/em>, <em>Fangbone!<\/em>) and Ken Cuperus (<em>Stargate: Atlantis<\/em>, <em>The Stanley Dynamic<\/em>) will develop and produce the series alongside creative partner Sandy Jobin-Bevans (<em>Just Like Mom and Dad<\/em>, <em>Second City Mainstage<\/em>). Also on board as executive producer is original series producer and actor Mitch Markowitz.<\/p>\n<p>Also in development is <em>The Happy House of Frightenstein<\/em>, an animated preschool edition of the show featuring young versions of the original characters, as they learn and grow together in the castle of fun. A special celebrating the show\u2019s 50th anniversary is also in the works. Headspinner is currently seeking broadcast and distribution partners on these projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Hilarious House of Frightenstein<\/em> was a major influence on our comic sensibilities,\u201d said Headspinner\u2019s Cuperus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a dream come true to bring these incredible characters back and introduce them to a whole new generation of fans,\u201d added Headspinner\u2019s Jobin-Bevans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am convinced this is the right team and the right time to revitalize and reinvent \u2018The Green Team\u2019 a.k.a.
