Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has inked an agreement with pay-TV operator i-Cable to bring Nick Jr. to Hong Kong, in addition to securing its first Southeast Asia game collaboration with goGame in Singapore.<\/p>\n
The linear Nick Jr. channel will debut on i-Cable\u2019s platform in Hong Kong for the first time in the coming months. The preschool channel features hit shows such as PAW Patrol<\/em>,\u00a0Blaze and the Monster Machines<\/em>,\u00a0Nella the Princess Knight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Shimmer and Shine<\/em>.<\/p>\n The existing collaboration with i-Cable already includes Comedy Central Asia and MTV China on its basic package and Nickelodeon on its kids\u2019 pack.\u00a0Details about the launch date and price plans for Nick Jr. will be revealed at a later stage.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are delighted to broaden our collaboration with i-Cable to now add Nick Jr. channel to their channel lineup,\u201d said Pierre Cheung, the senior VP and general manager for Greater China at Viacom International Media Networks. \u201cNick Jr. is about giving children and their parents \u2018A Smart Place to Play.\u2019 Our preschool shows are both smart and fun, powered by great stories, relatable characters and character-led curriculum that have been our hallmark.\u201d<\/p>\n Additionally, under the agreement with goGame, the Singapore-based mobile game publisher will develop a new mobile game based on Nickelodeon characters. The Nickelodeon x goGame\u00a0<\/strong>mobile game, which will be named at a later stage, is slated to launch in the third quarter of 2019. It will be the first game licensed to an Asian game developer that brings a family of Nickelodeon properties together.<\/p>\n The Nickelodeon x goGame mobile game is a multi-property\u00a0game of city building that will\u00a0bring back Nickelodeon favorites like\u00a0Rugrats<\/em>, Rocko\u2019s Modern Life\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Invader Zim<\/em>, along with evergreen properties like\u00a0SpongeBob SquarePants\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<\/em>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.\u00a0<\/em>It will allow users to build a Nickelodeon city of their own, where they can\u00a0collect Nick\u00a0characters, costumes and animations.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a strong suite of game apps engaging our audiences all over the world every day,\u201d commented Paras Sharma, the senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia at VIMN. \u201cThe collaboration with goGame is a great example of how we extend the strength of our iconic brands and characters through casual games.
