Genius Brands International has appointed seasoned finance exec Robert Denton as chief financial officer, effective April 18.<\/p>\n

In his new role, Denton will manage finance, accounting, budgeting and forecasting, IT, HR and corporate facilities. He will also be a member of the company’s executive management team. He will report to CEO Andy Heyward, whom he previously worked alongside while serving as CFO of DIC Entertainment.<\/p>\n

For the past six years, Denton held the position of CFO\/controller at Atlys Inc. Earlier in his career, he was COO at Artisan Home Entertainment and chief accounting officer at LIVE Entertainment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBob and I share a similar work ethic, and our management and leadership strategies as well as our business experiences are complementary,\u201d said Heyward. \u201cAs we continue to expand the scope of our global operations, Bob\u2019s ability to effectively and proficiently cultivate, facilitate and execute the strategic financial planning will steer the company\u2019s continued growth and sustained success.\u201d<\/p>\n
