BBC has revealed its plans for CBBC Summer Social, a festival for kids 6 to 12 and their families that is taking place in Liverpool this August.<\/p>\n
CBBC Summer Social will feature talent from such shows as The Next Step<\/em>, The Worst Witch<\/em>, Saturday Mash-Up!<\/em> and more. There will also be appearances from Hacker T Dog, Sam and Mark, Naomi\u00a0Wilkinson and Ben Shires, as well as musical performances by Union J, HRVY, Johnny Orlando, Matt Terry and Mackenzie Ziegler, among other activities.<\/p>\n Additional highlights will include theater shows, interactive art workshops, sporting acitivities, junior discos, slime experimenting, themed treasure hunts, gaming areas, character walkabouts and vlogger meet-and-greets.<\/p>\n CBBC Summer Social will be held at the Croxteth Hall in Liverpool from August 3 to 5. Tickets are slated to go on general sale March 29 at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n Alice Webb, the director of BBC Children\u2019s, said: \u201cWe\u2019re exceptionally proud to launch our first CBBC Summer Social in Liverpool this summer. We know that CBBC and CBeebies are the most-loved kids’ channels in the U.K. and we\u2019re always looking for ways to get closer to our audience. So this summer we\u2019re giving them the chance to step away from their tablets to get up close to their favorite stars and take part in loads of fun activities. There\u2019ll be no other festival like Summer Social in the U.K. this summer as we bring together international music stars to perform alongside beloved characters from both of our channels. We can\u2019t wait to get to Croxteth Park and bring this unique festival experience to kids and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n Claire McColgan, the director of culture for Liverpool, remarked: \u201cOver the last decade we have seen the power of transformative events across Liverpool\u2014not just in terms of the economic boost, but the emotional investment felt by those communities the events touch.<\/p>\n “We\u2019re incredibly proud of Croxteth Country Park and we\u2019re delighted it has been chosen as the home for CBBC Summer Social. It is a major moment for the city and we are delighted to be in partnership with the BBC which, as a public sector broadcaster and worldwide brand, shares our values and has the ability to tell a story in the most incredible way.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will give the chance for a whole new audience to discover Croxteth, to see its beauty and experience its history\u2014not just the thousands that attend but also the people watching at home across the country.
