The series was also snapped up in Australia by co-investment partner Seven Network. It is due to debut next year.<\/p>\n<p>Bruce Kane, co-creator and producer at BES Animation said: \u201cWe are immensely proud of <em>Kitty is Not a Cat<\/em>, a show that has far exceeded our expectations in terms of broadcaster response. With a background in producing irreverent comedy and music shows in Australia, we wanted to create a show that uniquely blends urban culture, comedy and music with stories that connect to 6- to 10-year-olds. It\u2019s a show we felt confident we could \u2018bet the farm on\u2019 and have been fortunate to work with some of the world\u2019s best partners, including Jetpack Distribution and the 7 Network. We are looking forward to growing the show\u2019s distribution and licensing plans as we head towards a successful broadcast launch in 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Niki Hamilton, executive producer at Seven Network, noted: \u201cThis quirky and unique animation is delightful and will produce some wonderful family entertainment for the Seven Network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dominic Gardiner, the CEO Jetpack Distribution, added: \u201cWe instantly loved the retro and off-beat style of <em>Kitty is Not a Cat<\/em>. It sweetly reverses a traditional narrative in a quirky and appealing way.
