The special An American Girl Story: Summer Camp Friends for Life<\/em>, inspired by the American Girl character named Z who fronts the web series Z’s Crew<\/em>, is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 9.<\/p>\n

An American Girl Story: Summer Camp Friends for Life<\/em> tells the story of Z, short for Suzie, the latest addition to American Girl\u2019s new line of contemporary characters that are designed to represent a broader range of girls\u2019 interests, backgrounds and experiences. Z is a Korean-American girl from Seattle who loves to make films and stay connected to her friends by sharing stories through her stop-motion videos. The web series featuring Z has amassed more than 3 million views on YouTube, and American Girl is now bringing the character to life as an 18-inch doll.<\/p>\n

The Z collection becomes available today. Along with the doll, the collection features outfits and accessories that reflect Z\u2019s filmmaking interests, including a wooden fold-out desk complete with a chair and several pretend video-making supplies such as a laptop and video monitor, a camera, a smartphone and a tripod, to name a few. The Z book collection, published by Scholastic and written by Jen Calonita, will introduce readers to Suzie “Z” Yang and her vlog, \u00a0Z’s Crew, which she created to share her passion for stop-motion animation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
