Discovery Kids, which is celebrating\u00a0its 20th anniversary, has inked development deals with producers in LatAm\u00a0and around the world, with plans to debut new original and acquired series, as well as additional seasons of its hit shows.<\/p>\n
Discovery Kids signed a multi-title development agreement with Little Airplane Productions, led by Emmy-winning producer Josh Selig (Wonder Pets!<\/em>). The first project in development is the tentatively titled Dog and Pony Show<\/em>, which\u00a0sees\u00a0two wacky characters starting their new lives in a big city.<\/p>\n From Brazil comes the original production Vivi Viravento<\/em>, created by Al\u00ea Abrue (The Boy and the World<\/em>) in partnership with Mixer. The story follows the titular character as she travels into her sketchbook\u00a0looking for\u00a0“the place where all ideas are born.”<\/p>\n There is also the previously announced Animated Floricienta<\/em>, a new series created by Cris Morena, and Underdogs<\/em>, an animated show from Oscar-winning director Juan Jos\u00e9 Campanella.<\/p>\n New and returning Discovery Kids originals include Baby Rockers<\/em> (working title), a new program\u00a0created with MundoLoco CGI about a band of multicultural and musical babies; Doki<\/em>, which is in its third season; El Zoo de Zu<\/em>, back for a second installment; and El Mundo de Luna<\/em>, which\u00a0is returning for a third season.<\/p>\n The channel will also premiere the new series\u00a0Frankie and Zhu Zhu Pets<\/em> (Nelvana), Zak Storm<\/em> (ZAG), Nature Cat<\/em> (9 Story), The Ollie and Moon Show<\/em> (Cottonwood Media), Polly Pocket<\/em> (Mattel) and Peppa Pig<\/em> (eOne Family).<\/p>\n In addition, Cineclub will feature such movies as Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron<\/em>, the Shrek<\/em> trilogy, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit<\/em>, Madagascar<\/em>, Barnyard<\/em>, Rango<\/em>, Alpha & Omega: Big Fureeze<\/em>, Alpha & Omega: Journey to Bear Kingdom<\/em> and Puss in Boots<\/em>.<\/p>\n Carolina Lightcap, the executive VP and chief content officer at Discovery Networks Latin America\/U.S. Hispanic, commented: \u201cWe are very excited about the array of projects in development as well as currently in production for Discovery Kids.
