SAN FRANCISCO\/STOCKHOLM\/NEW YORK: Toca TV, a video platform for children launched by app maker Toca Boca in 2016, is being discontinued at the end of this month due to low subscription numbers.<\/p>\n

Meant for\u00a0youngsters\u00a0between the ages of 5 and 9, Toca TV features exclusive original content, prescreened videos, a recording tool and more. In a statement on the Toca Boca website, Bj\u00f6rn Jeffery, the company’s CEO and co-founder, said: “Last year we released Toca TV, a reimagined video platform for kids with an array of Toca Boca original content, from the What\u2019s Going On<\/em> series based on Toca Life, to the completely new creative endeavors like Don\u2019t Mix Us Up<\/em>. We are very proud of the content we created for Toca TV and appreciate the support from both Toca Boca fans who subscribed to this service as well as the many content partners we have been working with.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, subscriptions were lower than anticipated and, as a result, we have had to make the decision to discontinue Toca TV as of March 31. Subscribers who signed on for future months will be able to receive a refund through the App Store and Google Play. We will be sending an email to subscribers with full details and additional questions can be answered here.<\/p>\n
