MUNICH: Global Screen has secured the worldwide rights for the Norwegian kids’ series ZombieLars<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 13×15-minute show is about an 11-year-old half-zombie\u2014or “living unliving.” The series is created by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Gisle Halvorsen, and is helmed by director Atle Knudsen. Tordenfilm, the makers of Valkyrien<\/em> and Two Buddies and a Badger<\/em>, are behind the project, in co-production with NRK Super and with backing from Nordic Film & TV Fund and The Norwegian Film institute.<\/p>\n

Ulrike Schr\u00f6der, acquisition manager for TV at Global Screen, said, \u201cZombieLars<\/em> is a truly unique and fresh series aimed at school kids and we can\u2019t wait to present it to our international buyers. The series tackles the question of how to fit in and shows how we cope with being different\u2014and all this with great sensitivity and sense of humor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tordenfilm producer Anne Bergseng commented, \u201cZombieLars<\/em> is an important series to make right now, with its themes of tolerance and acceptance told from the perspective of kids.
