The products will be available at a range of outlets such as Toy Kingdom, Toys\u201cR\u201dUs, Hamleys, Toy Zone\u00a0and\u00a0Lilliput Toys, plus mass market retailers such as\u00a0ShopRite Group and online retailer\u00a0Takealot.com.<\/p>\n<p>Ackerman\u00a0has signed on as direct-to-retail clothing partner, and licensees such as\u00a0PowerHouse, Global Source, First World Trade TCI\u00a0and\u00a0Life Authentic\u00a0have all been commissioned by South Africa\u2019s top mass and high-end clothing retailers (Edgars, Pick n Pay, Mr Price, Jet, Jam Clothing, Hub\u00a0and\u00a0Pep) to develop lines set for a summer launch. A range of outerwear, swimwear, sleepwear, footwear, fashion accessories and luggage is expected to launch in September and October.\u00a0Just Fun Group\u00a0is developing a peripheral toy program covering affordable puzzles, novelty and pocket money toys, and arts and crafts.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be wheeled toys and role-play items from Just Play, musical instruments from\u00a0HTI, partyware, fun lucky packets, bubble toys and novelty confections from\u00a0Laceys Distributors, as well as\u00a0Candy Toys. A local publishing program is also in development via\u00a0Empire Group. Coloring and activity books will be available in South Africa from December. Starting in October,\u00a0Character Group\u00a0will be rolling out\u00a0<em>Shimmer and Shine<\/em>\u00a0products spanning from bedding, bedroom accessories, fashion accessories, bath and beauty products and beverages.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Frugtniet, the VP of licensing and business development at Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products,\u00a0said, \u201cA host of early commitments from best-in-class licensees and top South African retailers is a testament to the huge strength and popularity of\u00a0<em>Shimmer and Shine,\u00a0<\/em>and very encouraging so early in the life of this new property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz, creator and co-executive producer of <em>Shimmer and Shine<\/em>, commented, \u201cI&#8217;m so excited to bring smiles to the faces of\u00a0<em>Shimmer and Shine&#8217;s<\/em>\u00a0many\u00a0South African fans by expanding the reach of these well-loved characters beyond the TV screen and giving them the opportunity to\u00a0touch, play and interact\u00a0with\u00a0Shimmer\u00a0and\u00a0Shine\u00a0in the real world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Graham Stephen, the managing director of Character Licensing &amp; Marketing (CLM), South Africa, added, \u201cThe initial response to\u00a0<em>Shimmer and Shine<\/em>\u00a0has been incredible and\u00a0CLM\u00a0is confident that the international success will be mirrored locally.
