Series Gets Digital Extension with New App"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO: Industrial Brothers, CBC and The Jim Henson Company have unveiled <em>Dotopedia<\/em>, a new app based on the animated series <em>Dot.<\/em>, about a curious girl who uses technology to enhance her experiences with the natural world.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dotopedia<\/em> gives kids the opportunity to explore subjects they are passionate about and create their own digital encyclopedia just like Dot\u2019s. Kids help build <em>Dotopedia<\/em> into a digital repository of their favorite information by uploading their own pictures, audio clips and stories.\u00a0<em>Dot.<\/em>, a series for kids between the ages of 4 and 7,\u00a0is based on the picture book by <em>New York Times<\/em> best-selling author Randi Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n<p>The app was developed by digital design and development studio REDspace in conjunction with Industrial Brothers, CBC, The Jim Henson Company and The Bell Fund. With the app, kids can access more than 200 articles through games and activities. They can also track their progress and earn stickers and Rangeroo Badges while they play, and unlock new articles by completing activities. The app also allows kids to create new articles by adding text, images and sound. There is no social sharing or connectivity, in an effort to create a safe environment for kids. <em>Dotopedia<\/em> is available for iOS and Android devices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dot.<\/em>\u00a0is produced by Industrial Brothers in association with The Jim Henson Company and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
