{"id":11389,"date":"2016-12-01T10:42:07","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T15:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/family-channel-family-jr-unveil-holiday-lineup\/"},"modified":"2016-12-01T10:55:34","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T15:55:34","slug":"holiday-lineup-unveiled-for-family-jr-family-channel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/holiday-lineup-unveiled-for-family-jr-family-channel\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Jr. &#038; Family Channel Unveil Holiday Lineups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO: This month will see a slew of holiday programming airing on Canada&#8217;s Family Jr. and Family Channel, which are both part of DHX Media&#8217;s DHX Television.<\/p>\n<p>Starting next week, Family Jr.&#8217;s schedule will include winter-themed episodes from the preschool network\u2019s hit shows, including <em>YaYa &amp; Zouk<\/em>, <em>Messy Goes to OKIDO<\/em>, <em>Bob the Builder<\/em> and <em>Yo Gabba Gabba!<\/em> A <em>Thomas &amp; Friends<\/em> programming event is slated to run from December 14 to 25 and will be complemented by a Watch and Win contest on the Family Jr. website. Other highlights include a full day of seasonal\u00a0content on Christmas Day, and a <em>Wizard of Oz<\/em>-inspired <em>Kate &amp; Mim-Mim<\/em> special.<\/p>\n<p>Family Channel&#8217;s holiday lineup kicks off tomorrow with the network premiere of <em>Get Santa<\/em>, followed by <em>The Flight Before Christmas<\/em> on December 9, <em>Santa&#8217;s Apprentice<\/em> on December 10, <em>Scoot and Kassie&#8217;s Christmas Adventure<\/em> on December 16, and <em>Hank Zipzer and the Christmas Catastrophe<\/em> on December 17. From December 19 to 25, the channel will air such movies as <em>Elf<\/em>, <em>Home Alone 2: Lost in New York<\/em> and <em>Bob&#8217;s Broken Sleigh<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This month\u00a0will also see Family Channel air the <em>Backstage<\/em> season finale (December 9), <em>The Next Step<\/em> season four winter finale (December 16) and a special presentation of <em>Lost &amp; Found Music Studios<\/em> (December 16). From December 26 to January 6, there will be a post-Christmas lineup that includes daily series marathons and movies.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning on\u00a0December 16, viewers can enter Family&#8217;s Big Give Contest on the channel&#8217;s website for the chance to win a winter vacation. Throughout the month, the Family Channel app will feature holiday-themed episodes and movies, with new content being added regularly. Programming can be watched without a Wi-Fi connection by using the Download to Go feature.
