LONDON: BBC Worldwide has inked a deal with Zuku TV that sees the preschool network CBeebies now available on the East African home-entertainment operator.<\/p>\n

CBeebies launched as a 24-hour channel on the Zuku platform this month, airing such animated series\u00a0as Go Jetters<\/em>, Hey Duggee<\/em> and Sarah and Duck<\/em>. The network, which encourages children to learn through play, is meant for young viewers up to the age of 6. It has already been broadcasting\u00a0successfully in South Africa, among more than 75 other territories around the globe.<\/p>\n

Joel Churcher, the VP and general manager for Africa at BBC Worldwide, said: \u201cCBeebies is the number one channel for children under six in the U.K. Following the success that the channel has had here in Africa, we\u2019re thrilled to be launching it with a new partner to an even bigger family audience. The channel is home to some of the most entertaining and educational programs for young children and given that the African continent has one of the youngest populations globally, we\u2019re excited to be able to give new viewers on the Zuku platform access to such popular kids\u2019 programs.\u201d<\/p>\n
