QU\u00c9BEC: Frima and Groupe M\u00e9dia TFO have unveiled their plans to launch MaXi<\/em>, a new Canadian animated series for 9- to 12-year-olds that is being designed first for smartphones and tablets.<\/p>\n

MaXi<\/em> will follow part-time Siamese teens Mara and Xilo as they explore the fantasy world of Vakarma. The voice cast of the French-language production\u00a0includes\u00a0Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, Nicolas Charbonneaux, Mathieu Pichette, Martin Watier and Annie Girard. The 26×11-minute show will become available for iOS and Android devices, as well as in a linear format for TV. It is slated for release in spring 2017.<\/p>\n

Glenn O’Farrell, Groupe M\u00e9dia TFO’s president and CEO, commented: “We are proud to support French-language innovation in the production of content for young people aged 9 to 12. The production of a series designed first for smartphones and tablets is in keeping with the digital shift we have begun at Groupe TFO. We hope to make use of these platforms in an innovative manner to serve the learning public in Ontario, Canada, and elsewhere in the world.”<\/p>\n
