QU\u00c9BEC: Frima and Groupe M\u00e9dia TFO have unveiled their plans to launch MaXi<\/em>, a new Canadian animated series for 9- to 12-year-olds that is being designed first for smartphones and tablets.<\/p>\n MaXi<\/em> will follow part-time Siamese teens Mara and Xilo as they explore the fantasy world of Vakarma. The voice cast of the French-language production\u00a0includes\u00a0Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, Nicolas Charbonneaux, Mathieu Pichette, Martin Watier and Annie Girard. The 26×11-minute show will become available for iOS and Android devices, as well as in a linear format for TV. It is slated for release in spring 2017.<\/p>\n Glenn O’Farrell, Groupe M\u00e9dia TFO’s president and CEO, commented: “We are proud to support French-language innovation in the production of content for young people aged 9 to 12. The production of a series designed first for smartphones and tablets is in keeping with the digital shift we have begun at Groupe TFO.
