BURBANK: Elena and the Secret of Avalor<\/em>, an animated TV movie about the titular\u00a0character in the new series Elena of Avalor<\/em>, is due to debut as a special simulcast on Disney Channel and Disney Junior next month.<\/p>\n

Elena and the Secret of Avalor<\/em> tells the backstory of how Elena was imprisoned in her magical amulet by the evil sorceress Shuriki\u2014voiced by Jane Fonda\u2014and later\u00a0freed by Princess Sofia of Enchancia. The special is set to\u00a0premiere on Sunday, November 20, at 7 p.m. It will also become available on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior apps and on\u00a0VOD that same day.<\/p>\n

Besides Fonda, the voice cast for Elena and the Secret of Avalor<\/em>\u00a0includes Ariel Winter as Sofia; Sara Ramirez as Queen Miranda; and Chris Parnell, Yvette Nicole Brown and Carlos Alazraqui as the jaquins Migs, Luna and Skylar, respectively; among others. The Disney Television Animation production combines the creative teams from\u00a0Sofia the First<\/em> and Elena of Avalor<\/em>.
