NEW YORK\/PARIS: More than 1,400 executives are expected to take part in MIPJunior this year, which will feature a library of some 1,000 shows available for screening, according to Reed MIDEM\u2019s Laurine Garaude.<\/p>\n

Garaude, director of the television division at Reed MIDEM, tells TV Kids <\/em>that MIPJunior will play host to a record number of buyers, with more than 600 expected for the two-day event at the Martinez.<\/p>\n

Two shows will be premiered for market attendees: The Jim Henson Company\u2019s Splash and Bubbles<\/em> and Studio Hari\u2019s Grizzy and the Lemmings<\/em>. Keynotes will be delivered by Mattel\u2019s Catherine Balsam-Schwaber (followed by a Q&A with World Screen<\/em>\u2019s Kristin Brzoznowski) and Corus\u2019s Deirdre Brennan. Other highlights include the second-annual World Screen Kids\u2019 Content Trendsetter Awards, which will be presented at the end of Saturday morning\u2019s What Do Channels and Platforms Want? session moderated by World Screen<\/em>\u2019s Anna Carugati and featuring Canal+\u2019s Laurence Blaevoet, Disney XD\u2019s Marc Buhaj, Amazon Studios\u2019 Tara Sorensen and CBBC\u2019s Sarah Muller.<\/p>\n

Garaude also notes MIPJunior\u2019s focus on emerging technologies like VR and immersive reality, and its sessions showcasing how \u201cdevices can help reconnect parents and kids.\u201d There will also be several panels focused on the increasingly important role played by the L&M sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
