ATLANTA: Cartoon Network has kicked off Powfactor, a new global Powerpuff Girls initiative that celebrates the “special ingredient” inside everyone that\u00a0empowers\u00a0them to change the world.<\/p>\n
Cartoon Network is showcasing\u00a0Powfactor on air and on all of the channel’s platforms, with a special music video featuring The Powerpuff Girls calling out their special ingredient and demonstrating\u00a0how individual traits can help the world. Powerpuff Girls voice actresses Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li and Natalie Palamides sing a new version of the show’s theme song, reimagined for the campaign. Cartoon Network also teamed up with Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls for an original mini docuseries, which has begun rolling out\u00a0on\u00a0the Smart Girls website and associated Facebook and YouTube channels.<\/p>\n
Powfactor coincides with the release of a new Powerpuff Girls toy\u00a0collection\u00a0from global master toy partner Spin Master.\u00a0The initiative continues throughout October, when Cartoon Network will make a call for kids to express their Powfactor via the CN Sayin’ app. The channel will also celebrate fans’ Powfactor on air through bumps in targeted Powerpuff Girls premiere episodes and in weekly Saturday morning blocks. New components of the campaign will be announced later this fall.<\/p>\n
“Just like Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, kids have a special ingredient which makes them heroes,” said Jill King, Cartoon Network’s senior VP of marketing and partnerships. “Partnering with Smart Girls to launch this campaign is a perfect fit for the message of positivity, individuality and confidence [that] Powfactor embodies.”<\/p>\n
