OTTAWA: Martin Markle, who had been serving as CBC’s senior director of children’s content for less than a year, has left the Canadian pubcaster.<\/p>\n
“Martin is no longer with the CBC,” Chuck Thompson, CBC’s head of public affairs, confirmed to\u00a0TV Kids<\/em>. “Marie McCann will be the interim senior director of Kids’ CBC while we take the time to consider a longer-term plan. Marie is an award-winning children’s television producer with over 20 years’ experience, having worked in both production and development.”<\/p>\n Kids’ CBC appointed McCann as executive in charge of production for children’s content in January 2016.<\/p>\n Markle returned to Kids’ CBC in September 2015 following the departure of creative head of children\u2019s content Kim Wilson earlier that year. He was responsible for leading the Kids’ CBC team, overseeing the development and production of all children’s content and enhancing CBC’s multiplatform strategy for its youngest viewers.
