The 30-episode comedic show, which begins filming this month, is due to debut on CBBC next year. DHX Media will handle global distribution outside of the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl Taylor, controller for CBBC, commented: \u201cThis new series promises our young audience a fact-filled and fun-packed series centered [on] the fascinating characters and everyday adventures at the zoo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Josh Scherba, the senior VP of distribution at DHX Media, noted: \u201cWe are delighted to once again be teaming up with CBBC on a new kids\u2019 show. Working with the wonderful staff and animals of Paignton Zoo, we think <em>The Zoo<\/em> promises to be a terrific and entertaining show from which kids worldwide can enjoy animal stories direct from the horse\u2019s mouth, so to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simon Tonge, Paignton Zoo&#8217;s executive director, added: \u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to have the BBC with us. This show will blend animal science and conservation information with engaging character-driven comedy.
