MUNICH\/TORONTO: Palatin Media has struck a deal that will see Breakthrough Entertainment\u2019s film L.M. Montgomery\u2019s Anne of Green Gables<\/em> air on German pubcaster ARD.<\/p>\n

L.M. Montgomery\u2019s Anne of Green Gables<\/em> launched in Canada on YTV and is inspired by Lucy Maud Montgomery\u2019s classic novel. The film tells the story of a precocious and innocent young orphan named Anne Shirley. Anne is placed in the care of Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert by mistake and touches their lives with her irrepressible\u00a0spirit.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0latest film adaptation is based on an\u00a0original script by Susan Coyne and directed by John Kent Harrison. It is produced by Breakthrough Entertainment in association with Corus Entertainment\u2019s YTV and the author\u2019s granddaughter, Kate Macdonald Butler, who served as executive producer on the film. It stars Martin Sheen, Ella Ballentine, Sara Botsford, Julia Lalonde, Kate Hennig, Stefani Kimber, Drew Haytaoglu, Kyle Gatehouse and Linda Kash. First published in 1908, Anne of Green Gables<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0a Canadian literary\u00a0classic\u00a0that\u00a0has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide.<\/p>\n
