SYDNEY: SLR Productions and ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) have teamed up to develop the Aussie children’s book series Alice-Miranda<\/em> into an animated dramedy for television.<\/p>\n

The Alice-Miranda<\/em> books, penned by Jacqueline Harvey and published by Penguin Random House, follow the adventures of the youngest girl to ever attend the Winchesterfield-Downsfordvale Academy for Proper Young Ladies. The upcoming 26×30-minute TV show\u00a0is slated for broadcast on Nine Network in Australia. It will be geared toward viewers between the ages of 6 and 9.<\/p>\n

Suzanne Ryan, SLR Productions\u2019s CEO and executive producer, commented:\u00a0\u201cWe are absolutely thrilled to be developing this extraordinary book property into a 26xhalf-hour animation series with our partner ZDF Enterprises and for the local broadcaster to be the Nine Network. This is the first time SLR has optioned a book property under the banner of the newly formed Penguin Random House and it is an honor to be working with the very talented Australian author, Jacqueline Harvey and the publishing team.\u00a0The Alice-Miranda<\/em> TV series will focus on friendship, fun, mystery and intrigue\u2014all the elements 6- to 9-year-olds love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey stated: \u201cI am so excited to be working with Suzanne and her incredibly talented team at SLR Productions. It\u2019s a huge thrill to know that Alice-Miranda and her friends are destined to reach an even broader audience around the world via a television series that has the support of ZDF Enterprises.\u201d<\/p>\n
