LONDON: Emmy-winning producer Karen Fowler has joined King Rollo and Koko Rose Media as showrunner for Flora of the Forest<\/em>, the preschool property formerly known as Deer Little Forest<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Fowler was behind the re-invention of The Electric Company<\/em>, and also worked on the Jim Henson Productions series Dot<\/em>. Created and co-developed by illustrator Jo Rose, Flora of the Forest<\/em> is a 52×11-minute show that centers on a 7-year-old girl who lives with her research-scientist mom in a forest tree house.<\/p>\n

Koko Rose Media holds the rights for the show. The TV distribution partner is Toronto-based Bejuba!, with global licensing agents including ThinkTank Emporium (U.S. and Canada), Burda Intermedia Merchandising (Germany and GST), and Empire Multimedia (China, Korea and Southeast Asia).<\/p>\n

\u201cKaren\u2019s ability to bring a palpable sense of fun and wonder to screen has resulted in a world of infinite possibilities and highly original, aspirational characters,\u201d said Koko Rose Media\u2019s managing director Lisa Hryniewicz. \u201cFrom independent Flora and her awesome mom, to the domesticated boy badger, and the meditating fox, kids will undoubtedly find brand-new friends in Flora\u2019s forest.\u201d<\/p>\n
