BELFAST: Claude<\/em>, a new 2D animated preschool show\u00a0produced by Sixteen South, has been picked up by Disney Junior for broadcast in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

Claude<\/em> follows the titular beret-wearing dog who goes on adventures with his best friend, Sir Bobblysock, after his owners leave for work. The 52×11-minute series is based on the books by Alex T. Smith and published by the Hachette Children’s Group. It recently\u00a0started\u00a0production and is slated to begin airing next year. American Greetings Properties has signed on to\u00a0handle the global media distribution of Claude<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Colin Williams, Sixteen South\u2019s creative director, commented: \u201cWe fell in love with Claude<\/em> when we first saw the books and we\u2019re thrilled that Disney has fallen in love with him, too. We\u2019re delighted that our little four-legged hero will be popping up on Disney Junior all across the world and we know that his fun stories and silly humor will appeal to children everywhere!\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith noted: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be working and writing with Sixteen South on this very special project, and can\u2019t wait for everyone across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia to join Claude and Sir Bobblysock as their adventures move to the small screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karen Lawler, the executive manager of licensing at the Hachette Children\u2019s Group, added: \u201cWe\u2019ve had a fantastic experience working with Sixteen South who really understand Claude<\/em>\u2019s humor and charm.
