TV Kids Festival Preview: Day 1

TV Kids Festival kicks off on February 1 with leading buyers discussing their acquisition strategies, followed by keynote conversations with DreamWorks Animation’s Peter Gal, Bluey’s Joe Brumm, WildBrain’s Josh Scherba and Common Sense Networks’ Eric Berger. Register for this FREE event here.

The day begins at 9 a.m. EST with the session Hit Seekers, featuring WarnerMedia Kids & Family’s Adina Pitt, KiKA’s Sebastian Debertin, M6’s Maud Branly and CBC’s Marie McCann sharing their strategies for finding the best properties the international market has to offer. At 10:30 a.m. EST, Gal, the chief creative officer for television at DreamWorks Animation, will discuss the studio’s approach to developing resonant, compelling content for Netflix, Apple TV+, Peacock, Prime Video, Hulu and other platforms worldwide. At 12 p.m. EST, Brumm takes us behind the scenes of the hit series Bluey. Originated in Australia, Bluey has won the hearts of preschoolers across the globe.

Scherba, the president of WildBrain, will weigh in on how the kids and family giant is evolving amid changes in the market in a keynote taking place at 1:30 p.m. EST.

The first day of the Festival wraps at 3 p.m. EST with Berger, the CEO of Common Sense Media’s for-profit arm who architected the launch of Sensical, a new AVOD platform that arrived on the scene last year with a slew of high-end content partnerships in place.
