Sonar Entertainment has begun production on its new book-based series Go Away, Unicorn!, which is due to debut in the U.S. and Canada in fall 2018.

Go Away, Unicorn! follows the adventures of a girl and her unicorn as they learn that friends are often found in the unlikeliest of places. The show, inspired by Emily Mullock’s children’s book, is being produced for Disney Channel in the U.S. and Corus Entertainment’s YTV in Canada. It will premiere on Disney networks in multiple territories around the globe.

Meant for young viewers between the ages of 6 and 9, Go Away, Unicorn! will feature the voices of Chris Diamantopoulos (Mickey Mouse) and Rebecca Husain (Beat Bugs). The series was developed by Dan Signer, who is serving as showrunner and executive producer. It has been acquired in a number of territories worldwide, including by Disney in the U.K., CEEMA, Italy, France, Latin America, Australia, Korea and Russia.

Go Away, Unicorn! is a beautiful, original children’s book with a strong girl character who is not afraid to be different,” said Andrea Gorfolova, the president of kids, family and factual at Sonar Entertainment. “We are excited to see this wonderful story come to life on the screen and are grateful to our partners for believing in this project.”
