PBS Kids Cancels Caillou

PBS Kids has canceled the children’s animated series Caillou, which features five seasons and debuted its first episode in 1997.

Caillou’s cancelation was announced by PBS Kids via Twitter. “We’re saying farewell to @cailloudhx, but remember, when we say goodbye to something…It just means we get to say hello to something new!” read the tweet confirmation. PBS Kids went on to offer parents tips for helping Caillou‘s young fans cope with the loss of the program.

Centering on the titular precocious 4-year-old and his family, Caillou features adventures and puppet skits as well as videos of kids in real-life scenarios. Along with his invisible friends, Caillou plays sports and explores nature. The show is aimed at the toddler and preschool audience.
