Nickelodeon Gives Go-Ahead to Knight Squad

Nickelodeon has greenlit 20 episodes of Knight Squad, a tentatively titled live-action comedy series from the team behind the hit show The Thundermans.

Knight Squad is set in a magical school for knights-in-training, two of whom form an unlikely bond to protect each other’s secrets and pursue their dreams. The series will star Owen Joyner (100 Things to Do Before High School), Daniella Perkins (Legendary Dudas), Amarr M. Wooten (American Housewife), Lexi DiBenedetto (Modern Family), Lilimar (Bella and the Bulldogs) and Kelly Perine (Santa Hunters). It is slated to begin production in the fall.

Knight Squad is created and executive produced by The Thundermans EPs Sean Cunningham and Marc Dworkin. The Thundermans has been picked up for another six episodes that will bring the show past the 100-episode milestone, making it Nickelodeon’s longest-running live-action sitcom since iCarly.
