New Smurfs Series Lands on Rai YoYo

Rai Ragazzi in Italy has picked up the brand-new 3D version of The Smurfs.

Produced by Peyo Productions and Dupuis Audiovisuel, the series will air on the Italian preschool channel Rai YoYo in early 2022. Aimed at girls and boys aged 5 to 10, The Smurfs will be directed by William Renaud and written by Peter Saisselin and Amy Serafin.

The new series will feature Papa Smurf, Smurfette and all the other inhabitants of the mushroom-shaped houses. It is being made in collaboration with KIKA, TF1, VRT and RTBF, with the participation of Wallimage (La Wallonie), Screen Flanders and BNPPFFF, and with the support of the Tax Shelter of the Belgian Government and the participation of the CNC. Rai Ragazzi closed the deal for the series with IMPS, the official licensors of The Smurfs.
