New Scripted Musical Event for Nickelodeon

California Dreaming, a new scripted musical event from producer and manager Simon Fuller and Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Ryan Tedder, is set to debut on Nickelodeon on December 16.

Produced by Swirl Films (Saints & Sinners), the hour-long event follows a group of young musicians auditioning to attend an esteemed performing arts boarding school. It features original songs written by Tedder.

California Dreaming stars Jenna Raine Simmons (Hyperlinked), Liv Simone (Raven’s Home), Angelina Green (America’s Got Talent), Ben Krieger (national tour of Finding Neverland) and Max Fincham (Invasion).

The teleplay is by Genna Ryan (Young Sheldon, The Thundermans) and the story is by Janae Bakken (Greenhouse Academy) and Ryan. Fuller (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance), Tedder (Songland), Bakken, Ryan and director Matt Stawski (Side Effects) serve as executive producers, with Marc Dworkin and Sean Cunningham (Julie and the Phantoms) as consulting producers.
